Holly Yager, Registered Clinical Counsellor

Holly Yager is a reproductive health & fertility counsellor in Vancouver with 15+ years of experience. Holly's primary focus is to support individuals and couples who are trying to conceive, either naturally or with the help of a fertility clinic. She provides support to those going through assisted conception (IVF, IUI). Holly also sees individuals and couples who are pursuing third-party reproduction (donation, surrogacy) due to infertility, single parenting, and/or LGBTQ+ family-building.

In addition to private practice, Holly has worked as a clinical counsellor at BC Women's Hospital + Health Centre since 2004 in the areas of reproductive endocrinology & infertility (REI/IVF), chronic pelvic pain & endometriosis (CPP); recurrent pregnancy loss & early pregnancy loss (RPL/EPAC); specialized women's health/reproductive & sexual health; and birthing options. In the past, Holly was the in-house counsellor at the BC Women's Centre for Reproductive Health (UBC IVF clinic), was a reproductive & sexual health counsellor at several local women's clinics, and completed a counselling internship at the BC Reproductive Mental Health program.

Holly is both a BC Registered Clinical Counsellor and a Canadian Certified Counsellor. In addition to providing therapy and support, Holly facilitates group workshops, presents lectures to professionals, provides clinical supervision and consultation to mental health professionals, and has co-authored journal articles and publications on both fertility and female chronic pelvic pain.

Holly works from a person-centered perspective where clients are the experts on their own lives, and where open collaboration is key. Holly is known for her professional, yet open and relaxed approach, allowing clients to feel at ease. Holly uses a variety of evidence-based psychotherapies and techniques, some of which include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), mindfulness-integrated approaches (MiCBT), and Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR).
