Counselling fees

Fees are set according to recommendations by the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors. Effective July 1st 2010, the BC government requires that 12% HST be added to all counselling fees.

  • Individual sessions -- 60 minutes -- $112 (including HST)
  • Couples sessions -- 75 minutes -- $140 (including HST)

Please contact Well Woman Counselling for information on fees that apply to group workshops, family sessions, telephone consultations, or written reports.

Payment options

Fees are due at the end of each session and are payable by Visa, or Mastercard, cash, or cheque. Sorry, debit transactions are not accepted at this time.

Missed or late appointments

Your appointment time has been reserved especially for you, which prevents from others from accessing services. Therefore, 24 hours cancellation notice is required or a no-show fee equivalent to the full session fee will be charged (except in the case of an emergency).

Clients arriving more than 15 minutes late will be considered to have missed their appointment and a no-show fee equivalent to the full session fee will be charged (except in the case of an emergency).

Third-party coverage

Extended health care plans

Many extended health benefits plans (e.g., Blue Cross, Sunlife, ManuLife, Great West Life, etc.) will reimburse you for the services of a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC), Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC), or Registered Professional Counsellor (RPC). Check your plan's details to see if you are eligible.

If your plan covers counselling or psychotherapy, you will pay Well Woman Counselling for the cost of your session and receive a receipt which you can then submit to your extended heath care provider for reimbursement.

Crime victim assistance program (CVAP)

If you have been a victim or witness of a crime in BC, you may be eligible to receive counselling sessions at no cost to you. Several therapists at Well Woman Counselling are approved providers of counselling services for the Crime Victim Assistance Program (CVAP). An official Claim Number and a statement that indicates the number of approved sessions must be provided before any counselling sessions will be booked.

Employee assistance programs (EAP)

Many clients have EAP coverage for counselling through their employer. Ask your counsellor if she is an approved provider for your specific EAP company (e.g., Brown-Crawshaw, Shepell-fgi).
